Caregiver jobs in Metro Manila where you keep 100%

Quick answer

On Kalingap, families pay you directly and Kalingap takes 0% commission. We hold no money, so the rate you agree is what you receive. You set your own rate for each service, never below the platform floor (for example ₱120/hr for elderly care or ₱110/hr for hospital watcher). You can browse open requests and see each job's rate before you sign up.

You know the work. Lolos and lolas in Quezon City, a hospital bantay shift in Sampaloc, a few months live-in in Parañaque. What still frustrates many caregivers is the money. "Sabi ₱1,000 ang araw, pero pagdating sa akin, kulang." They said ₱1,000 a day, but by the time it reached me, it was short. A cut here, a "processing fee" there, pay that arrived two weeks late.

(That line paraphrases a common complaint. It isn't a quote from a named person.)

If that sounds familiar, this guide is for you. Below: how caregiver work usually pays in Metro Manila, what "keep 100%" actually means on Kalingap, and how to start without paying anyone to find you work.

Figures here come from official and public sources checked on 6 October 2026. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.

How the money usually flows (and where it leaks)

A note on agencies. Under the Caregivers' Welfare Act (RA 11965, Sec. 23), private employment agencies placing caregivers must not charge caregivers any recruitment or placement fees. If someone asks you to pay to be "placed," treat it as a red flag.

What "keep 100%" means on Kalingap

Three facts, from our How it works page:

  1. You price each service. Elderly care, childcare, hospital watcher, overnight care and the rest. You also choose how far you're willing to travel.
  2. The family pays you directly. You're paid the rate you agreed.
  3. Kalingap takes no cut and holds no money. There's no platform commission taken from your pay.

The rate on your profile is the rate. If you charge ₱150/hr for an 8-hour elderly care shift, the family pays you ₱1,200. All of it is yours.

Platform floors (the minimum you can set)

Elderly carefrom ₱120/hr
Overnight carefrom ₱130/hr
Post-surgery care (non-clinical support at home)from ₱150/hr
Live-in caregiverfrom ₱1,200/day

These are floors, not averages. Many caregivers charge more for experience, NC II, nights or heavier care. For help pricing yourself, read How to set your hourly rate on Kalingap.

If you're employed (by a household, agency or facility), these official minimums apply:

  • Kasambahay (domestic worker): ₱7,800/month in NCR, effective 7 February 2026 (Wage Order NCR-DW-06).
  • Daily minimum wage, non-agriculture: ₱755/day in NCR, effective 26 September 2026 (Wage Order NCR-28).
  • Caregivers covered by RA 11965 (TESDA-assessed and certified, or licensed health professionals listed with DOLE): pay must not be below the regional minimum wage, plus overtime past 8 hours and night-shift differential.

Kalingap gigs are independent bookings, not employment. Still, these numbers help you check that a rate is fair.

What kinds of jobs are on Kalingap

Families post requests for:

  • Elderly care. Meals, mobility help, companionship and medication reminders at home.
  • Hospital watcher (bantay). Staying at the bedside so the family can rest or go to work. Each hospital sets its own watcher rules.
  • Childcare. Yaya shifts, including cover on the regular yaya's day off.
  • Overnight care. Being there through the night for someone who can't be alone.
  • Appointment companion. Clinic visits, check-ups and errands.
  • Post-surgery support. Non-clinical help at home after a procedure.
  • Live-in care. By the day.

You can take instant offers near you when you're online, or apply to requests families post. Either way, you can see the job and its rate before you apply.

All of these are non-clinical home support. If a family asks for wound care, injections or medication changes, those belong to a doctor or licensed nurse.

How to start

  1. Browse open requests first, no account needed. See what's posted, where, and at what rate.
  2. Send your documents. Government ID (front and back), NBI clearance, and your TESDA Caregiving NC II if you have one. Our team reviews them.
  3. Interview, if scheduled. You may be invited to an interview with our team. Approval can complete without a scheduled interview when policy allows.
  4. Get your badges. Each completed check shows as a named badge on your profile: NBI checked, ID matched, Interviewed, NC II. Not every caregiver has every badge. See what each badge means.
  5. Set your services, rates and travel radius.
  6. Go online or apply. Agree the details with the family, do the work, and get paid directly.

Caregiver checklist before you accept a job

  • Hours, start time and end time are clear
  • Tasks are written down (what's included, and what isn't)
  • Rate agreed, plus how and when you'll be paid
  • Address and commute planned (who covers transport, if anything extra)
  • You know who else lives in the house and who your contact is
  • The job is non-clinical, or a nurse or doctor is involved for anything medical

Keeping 100% also means managing your own money

When nobody takes a cut, nobody else handles your paperwork either. A few things to think about:

  • Keep records. Note every visit, the hours and what you were paid. Kalingap keeps visit records too.
  • Social protection. Independent workers can register with SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG as self-employed or voluntary members. Ask each agency what applies to you.
  • Taxes. If you earn regularly as an independent worker, check your obligations with the BIR or an accountant.

Kalingap is a marketplace that connects families with independent caregivers in the Philippines. It is not an employment agency or a medical provider, and it is not your employer. Platform floors are minimums, not averages; actual rates are set by each caregiver. Legal wage figures are from NWPC wage orders checked 6 October 2026 and may change. This article is not legal or tax advice.

No. Kalingap takes 0% commission and holds no money. Families pay you directly at the rate you agreed.

Can I see caregiver jobs before I sign up?

Yes. Open requests are listed on the Requests page, with service, area, hours and rate. You don't need an account to browse.

What is the lowest rate I can set?

Each service has a platform floor, from ₱100/hr for an appointment companion to ₱150/hr for post-surgery support, and ₱1,200/day for live-in. You can set any rate at or above the floor.

Do I need NC II to work on Kalingap?

Is a Kalingap gig the same as being employed?

No. Kalingap is a marketplace. You're an independent caregiver choosing your own jobs and rates. Kalingap isn't your employer or an agency.
